2019 was a crazy fun year of growth and travel for A Thomas Photography, so it was only fitting that my last engagement session of the year was also my last trip of the year. I connected with Melisa and Marco through a Charlottesville wedding planner, who I actually met at a photo shoot in Nashville…crazy, right?! That’s one of my very favorite parts of this job-making relationships with people from all over! Melisa and her wedding planner, Elise (with Laurel Elise Weddings), have been best friends for years, so it was such an honor when Elise recommended me for Melisa and Marco’s wedding. We planned their shoot for a few months before I headed up to Alexandria, where we finally met on a FREEZING cold morning. These two are such champs, though, and we started their shoot at some of the iconic monuments in D.C. before heading back to the Historic Carlyle House in downtown Alexandria. These two have such an effortless and timeless style, and I was so excited to hook up with a local vendor for a fun floral addition to the shoot as well (Sister Stems, you are incredible!). Not to mention-we had the best brunch of my life after, but that’s beside the point ;) I am so thankful for my time with these two…we honestly had so much fun and I cannot wait for their May wedding in Virginia.
